Cathe, you have had your own dedicated space on my homepage for quite some time now. You are one of my crafty heroes. If a publisher doesn't snatch you up quick to write a book, they are just plain crazy.

What a fantastic post. I can't wait to read more of your blog. There's nothing better than telling someone you made it yourself.
Cathe, this is fabulous! Thank you for doing this!
Craft queen!! Amazing!
i am seriously in awe of you.
how do you do this?
you are amazing...so incredibly creative!
i have a question for you...may be strange because it is not related to the gifts, but to your design. how did you fill in the 'gift making guide' with the 'fabric' look? was this created in Illustrator? i do not have illustrator, only PS, but I would love to know how to do this.
thanks so much for your continued help and inspiration!
Hi Melissa, thanks for your question. I did use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
By cropping out little squares from my quilt scan in this post: http://justsomethingimade.blogspot.com/2009/09/faux-vintage-quilt-fun.html
I placed them in Illustrator and masked each individual fabric pattern image with the shape of the inside of each letters. I'm not sure if that helps, hopefully it's something you can also pull off in PS, but I'm not as fluent in that.
Hi Cathe--
Trying to view your "Watch Case Jewelry" tut., but the "Decorate By Numbers" comes up when I click on the link--help!
So Sorry Jan Ely- it's fixed now.
This is a goldmine of great stuff, you are so kind (and clever) to share all of this with us!! A BIG THANK YOU!
Take care!
