Recycled Greetings

My most recent blog post over at SC Johnson is all about making new holiday greetings from old holiday greetings! A perfect project for kids at home or in their classrooms. So, if you’ve stored up the last dozen-or-so years of holiday cards that you can’t bring yourself to throw away, this one’s for you.For more SC Johnson blog posts by yours truly, just visit the links over in my left sidebar. (And there’s several more to come!)

Wonderful idea! I use old greeting cards to make collage artist trading cards, but I haven't made new cards out of old yet. Will definitely have to try this!

This is great, seeing as I have every Christmas card we've gotten since we've been married. I was waiting for just the right project for them! lol

Very clever of you. Our family has always recycled cards of all types. These examples are beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

I just found your blog today via Dana Gustafson, and have spent waaaay more time than I should have here! I LOVE it....and this is such a cool idea. I bought some 1950's-era vintage cards last year at a yard sale and was wondering what to do with them JUST TODAY....and here is a wonderful little nudge to get me started! Thanks!

I save my favorite cards and take those of my friends and family as well. Then I use them as gift tags, or to create new cards, or this year I used them as images in some holiday books I made.

Gosh, you finally hit on something of which I'm capable on my own! ;)

Hi Cathe,
I use the last years holiday cards as my gift tags for the current year. A couple of circle and tag shaped punches from my craft store, some creative cutting and it works great! I hadn't though to use them to make new cards tho.. clever! :)

Abbie

Hello Cathe,

Your recycled cards are beautiful, I really wish I could see the one behind!

I particularly like the stamp one and I was really impressed when I saw that you got all the little images from that one card in the photo above.

Now I wish that I still saved my cards from previous years, well this year I will.

Thank you for the inspiration,
Dawn
