Before and After: Metal Cabinet

Don’t you just love before & afters!
Here’s a fun metal file cabinet I found thrifting last week. A little Simple-Green rub-down, add one can of Rust-oleum Apple Green spray paint and now I’ve got a perfect little file box to hold my small amount of folders in my tiny studio! And I appreciate anything metal for attaching magnets.
A while back I had some fun results with Rust-oleum’s Aqua spray paint and a library cabinet {LINK}.

Need more before & after fixes? Check out my favorite place for just that {HERE!}

Now, go paint something!

That cabinet looks SO great! I've been afraid of the metal paint - thinking it won't really work, but I better just try it.

This cabinet is so much cuter than your average two drawer file. Love those skinny little drawers and love the color! You rock.

That turned out wonderful:-) What is your secret on finding the time to do these crafts??? I'm always amazed by the things you do!!

I also noticed your large marker collection in the background. I used to have those, but they all dried out. Do you still use them? Back in the day we had to draw & shade the watch comps at Fossil with those markers. I bet they have a fancy computer program for that now.

Oh my gosh...I recently helped my 90 year old neighbor move and she gave me a cabinet identical to yours. Love the color you used.

I love that!! I've never seen a file cabinet like that before, with the flip-top and the cubby at the bottom. It's great! Love what you did with it.

ooooh, Thanks for this post Cathe - I'm still working on getting things ready for my office make over - and I have 2 metal file cabinets I would LOVE to paint! now I know I can!! - I just have to decide on a color.

Any suggestions? The walls are that spa blue, I'm going to paint my big desk white - I don't think I want the file cabinets white as well do I?

Oh my hubby is going to shoot me when I tell him I want to paint the file cabinets now too! LOL

Thanks so much for another inspiration to paint something! Right now I want to paint EVERYthing. I didn't see this on designsponge though-did you submit it? I REALLY want to thank you for mentioning their name, too. I rarely visit it. I had downloaded pix months ago from them, and recently kept going back to them for inspiration-but I couldn't remember where I found it-thanks!

Oh, I LOVE spray painting thrift store finds! I'm obsessed... I used a LOT of that apple green color in my own crafty space when I did a recent makeover. Here's my own before and after shots: http://mollyleecards.blogspot.com/2009/06/goodwill-spray-paint-o.html

And right now I'm using that same color for a metal patio chair. It's going to be GORGEOUS!
