Flickr Gadget For Your Blog

The e-mail gadget images and tutorial were such a hit that I made more gadgets to link to your Flickr photos from your Blogspot blog, some are generic if you use a different photo hosting site and if you grabbed an email button from here previously, I designed buttons to coordinate with those. In my sidebar, the “Visit My Studio” button links to my Flickr photos (studio shots are all I have on Flickr right now.) So grab a free button below and follow the simple tutorial, it’s very similar to the email gadget tutorial:
  1. Choose the JPG image you want to use for your gadget, or below are several free ones I designed for you to use. If you want to use one of these, drag or copy to your desktop or a file folder.
  2. Go to CUSTOMIZE on your blog
  3. Choose ADD A GADGET
  4. Choose PICTURE
  5. Type in something like “My Flickr Photos” or “Pictures” or simply leave it blank.
  6. In the LINK area, paste the URL from your Flickr page (that’s the http:// thing at the top of the page.)
  7. Step 7: For the image, BROWSE to the image you want to use
  8. Step 8: Click SHRINK TO FIT and SAVE
  9. Back on your CUSTOMIZE page, drag your new Flickr gadget to wherever you want it on your page.
  10. Comment here and I will visit your blog and check out your photos! freegadgets

LOVE these, this is just the push I've been needing to join Flicker. Thank you so much for this and the Email Me buttons. I love them. And more importantly, thanks for the tutorial in how to use them, cause I'm clueless about this kind of thing without help.

Also, been reading your guest posts, great job! Love the one of monochromatic groupings.

this is not a gadget

Cathe Holden said...

print, yes- technically, in the real world, they are not gadgets. But as far as Blogspot is concerned, and for newbie bloggers, I labeled them gadgets as they will appear as such in that particular GADGET column of the blog layout. I show how to turn them into a blogspot gadget by adding a link to flickr.

Thank you for your concern?

Hi Cathe:
I had a whole list of Flickr Album links in one gadget, so I used one of your buttons right above it to draw more attention to it.
thanks so much for the things you offer that make my blog look better!
Blessings,
Donna
