Moving Day has arrived!Recently, I made the decision to move all of my blog content from Blogger and begin blogging on the WordPress platform. There are several reasons, but one very important one is that I want the best way possible to share FREE PDF graphic files with my readers, a function not available through Blogger without using an outside file sharing source.
This process has taught me that Blogger was designed for blogging and blogging only, it’s simpler and a bit more user friendly than Wordpress, (so please bear with me as I learn my way around.) Wordpress, however, is so much more than just a blog. It’s used by many as a content management system. It’s extremely customizable and allows users to grow their blogs into fully functional websites.
I believe my current followers have automatically moved with me... but just in case they didn’t please resubscribe at http://justsomethingimade.com/feed/
The tedious move was not done by me. Desirai Labrada of Desirai.com made every single bit of the details come together into the fabulous new website. I supplied the graphics and a few notes and she and her team worked very hard giving special attention to every last detail of the transfer, new blog and design. How did she move your google connect without losing all of your followers?
I've thought of moving to wordpress several times but what I read was that my feed was set to blogspot and every follower would have to RE-follow me with a google connect set at 0 at the new location.
I'd love to know the answer to this if you don't mind.

I just changed the google friend connect feed url to the new address, and then added the HTML code into a text widget box.

I am so glad that you were able to bring your followers along - including me. I have not been able to figure out how to 'follow' a wordpress blog. With Blogger it is right there on the top bar saying "follow". I have run across others but can't follow and then do not bother to go look them up regularly. I guess word press is for more sophisticated computer users. I can understand wanting ease of use for you though. At any rate, thanks for bringing me along on your move.
The transfer was seamless as far as I can see..still with you, and glad to be..have a nice, pain-free time unpacking and rearranging, and we'll 'see' you when you have a minute to spare!
The transfer is something I'm looking into as well, but it is a task that feels worrisome for me. I might see if I can get help. I have the account set up, but then I got worry with the details of the transfer. Thanks though for the inspiration and reference for a helper.

I moved my blog from Typepad to Wordpress back in May. I am very glad I did - so much more freedom. I have run into a snag that I am having trouble getting fixed, but hopefully soon. I love the platform and still have lots to learn about all its features and functions.

OMG...I'm trying to decide if I want to move to WP or stay with typepad...it is so much work to move everything...yikes! I'm working on separating my blogs now for better navigation and typepad can handle that...it's just weather or not I want to be dependent on WP for support or typepad...decisions...decisions! Welcome to Wordpress. I have both WP hosted and self-hosted SP blogs, as well as blogspot. I enjoy both these platforms for different reasons, but my son, who is the coder, says WP all the way.

In general, I want you to say again thank you for your blog. When I first came to you, you did not sleep for almost half the night, drank three cups of coffee and could not go to sleep. I looked through your entire blog and could not tear myself away from him. Thank you very much :-)
