100 Year Old Eggs

I found this wonderful illustration of eggs in a book dated 1909. Beautifully preserved, including a drawn chart of the birds they come from. I created an additional image combining both.
I was thinking how lovely these images would be transfered to finger towels for the washroom or a set of small pillows for a guest room.

That certainly would be an intricate piece of work...But, beautiful when accomplished. Amazing, isnt it that we find some that sparks a new idea for something in craftwork?

How cool that they named what birds the eggs came from! I love it. Reminds me a bit of those posters in some culinary shops of many types of tomatoes, things like that. I love those.

I have printed off the egg images and plan to cut each out separately, mount them on foam board and place them nicely in a shadow box so that they look like a collection. Kinda like old butterfly or insect displays.
Love it!

So cool- Love Rae's idea of making an old style botanical display with them cut out individually and displayed in a collectors type box. That would be a great idea with butterfly images, too.

Thanks, Cathe, for uncovering all these neat old treasures.
