On my trip to Manhattan a few years ago, I met a young artist in a smoothie shop wearing a rosette on her jacket with a gold snake adorning it. Completely inspired, I started collecting vintage rosettes, aka: prize ribbons. I found some on eBay and several at the flea market and a few at Recycletown. The eBay lot was something like $13 for 25 plus shipping. Most of mine come from horse events.
There’s no end to the ideas I have for these rosettes. I’m covering little keepsake boxes and vintage tins and here are some photos of different ones I’ve embellished. I’ll be selling some at the craft fair in November.

Awesome! I would like to know how you got the "Home Sweet Home" onto that button. Did you stamp it on and then use the glitter. I am impressed by your skills. Do tell.
Hi Tania, For the Home Sweet Home button, I left the original award button in place. I made a color copy to size, just a bit bigger than circle to wrap over edge. Then I used Mod Podge to apply the paper. The Mod Podge softens the paper and allows the wrapping effect, nice and smooth if the fold over is minimal, otherwise you get gathering and puckering. Then I have some glitter glue that has a tiny tip, I traced the lettering and used German glass glitter. With GGGlitter, be sure to keep airtight your creations until time to sell or use, it oxidizes to dark grey.
